During May, six teams representing Trident Australia joined the Active for Change challenge, a global team-based virtual activity initiative running from 1–31 May. The challenge brought together employees from across RS Group plc, encouraging participants to increase their activity levels, support their teammates, and contribute to a broader social impact initiative. In total, more than 680 participants across 169 teams took part worldwide, creating a strong sense of connection and friendly competition across the global organisation.
At Trident Australia, 26 employees embraced the challenge, making a conscious effort to stay active while encouraging and motivating one another throughout the month. The challenge also provided an opportunity for team members from different areas of the business to connect outside of their day-to-day roles and work towards a shared goal.
Beyond the physical activity, Active for Change supports SolarAid, a charity working with communities in some of the most remote parts of sub-Saharan Africa. SolarAid helps provide access to clean, safe solar lighting in areas where many households still rely on kerosene lamps and candles. Access to solar lighting can have a significant impact, enabling children to study after dark, supporting local businesses, improving household safety, and reducing reliance on harmful fuel sources. Knowing that every step, kilometre, and activity contributed towards supporting this important cause provided additional motivation for participants throughout the month.
The challenge concluded with some fantastic achievements from the Trident teams. A special congratulations goes to the Bunker Bandits, who finished within the Top 30 teams globally, an outstanding result considering the scale of the competition. Individual recognition also goes to Rebekah Preskey, who achieved an impressive 24th place overall among all participants worldwide. While these results are worth celebrating, the true success of the challenge was the enthusiasm, consistency, and support shown by everyone involved throughout the month.
Active for Change highlighted the positive impact that can be achieved when people come together around a common goal. Whether participants were competing for leaderboard positions, improving their own wellbeing, or contributing to a worthwhile cause, every effort helped make the challenge a success. Congratulations to all 26 Trident team members who took part and represented the business so well. Your commitment, teamwork, and willingness to get involved made for a fantastic month and contributed to a meaningful global initiative.
